Eight Stop Snoring Suggestions
Eight Stop Snoring Suggestions
Suggestion #1 – Decrease your intake of dairy foods and drinks. Consuming dairy products increases mucus production which can boost the chances of you snoring.
Suggestion #2 – At night, position your head so that it is elevated while you are asleep. You can easily get in this position by sleeping on really thick pillows or by using more than one pillow beneath you head. Another option is to sleep in a somewhat slouched pose.
Suggestion #3 – Taking any kind of medications or drinking alcohol right before bed should be avoided because these substances cause muscle relaxation with leads to constriction of your airways and snoring.
Suggestion #4 – Recline on your side at night if you want to stop snoring. This will allow you to breathe more properly. To make sure you don’t roll over during the night, you can always attach a tennis ball to the rear of your shirt or gown. The discomfort of sleeping on the ball will keep you off your back at night.
Suggestion #5 – If you are overweight, it is time to lose some of that body fat. Extra weight can obstruct your air passages and make it tough for you to breathe while you are resting. Dropping a few pounds can change not only how you live, but it can also help you stop snoring.
Suggestion #6 – If you are a smoker, stop smoking as soon as possible. Not only does smoking take years off your life, but it has now been proven to disrupt your sleep schedule. Do whatever it takes to not smoke at bedtime. Smoking causes inflammation in your throat, and this swelling makes it hard for air to go through the passageways.
Suggestion #7 – Do not eat big meals in the evening. If you consume large quantities of food, your stomach will be enlarged and apply pressure on your diaphragm. This pressure interferes with your breathing.
Suggestion #8 – Another way that you can stop snoring is by having a humidifier in your bedroom at night. The humidifier keeps your throat moist enough to break up congestion and dissolve mucus.
